Personal Engraved Footstool
A wooden stool with your very own name on it! Just about any name, initials, monogram or simple phrase can be carved into the top of this sturdy stool.
All stools are cut from high quality 1/2 inch thick birch plywood.
The top is oversized: 11-3/4 by 18 inches wide. Designed for kids who don't necessarily pay attention to where they put their feet!
The base is intentionally wider than the top, and wider than it is tall for maximum stability. Each stool is 8-1/2 inches tall with a footprint of 14 inches by 20 inches.
Unlike most other stools we've bought, this stool won't easily tip over even if a kid puts all his weight on one edge and then leans on it! 1
If left unglued, the stools can be disassembled into five flat pieces for storage or transportation. An unglued stool will be strong and sturdy as long as it is upright and all four legs are on a level floor. 2
Our kids not only use the stools to stand on (for washing hands, turning lights on and off or sneaking into the candy jar), but also as a chair to sit on when working at their arts and crafts table or for watching TV when the dogs don't leave any spare room on the sofa.
They can be painted, stained or varnished as you please. We know of one customer who painted inside the lettering then sanded off any over-sprayed paint from the top surface, leaving the natural look of the wood exposed, then she applied a thin coat of mineral oil to give it a glossy finish. The results were fantastic. 3
1. We make no guarantees regarding stability if the stools are used in an unsafe manner
2. An un-glued stool can (and probably will) come apart if someone lifts any part of it up off the floor. Be sure to glue the legs and top together with a good wood glue for maximum stability.
3. All stools ship as unfinished, bare wood in five pieces. Some minor assembly required. No tools needed to assemble. The customer is responsible for choosing whether to apply a finish to the stool and for the suitability of that finish.
